제목 Zeolite-Templated Mesoporous Silicon Microparticles for High Performance Li-ion Battery Anodes
초록 With an expanding demand for high-energy storage systems, advanced lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have attracted a great attention in academic and industrial sectors. Among various candidates for anode materials, silicon has generated great interest due to its large lithium storage capacity (3579 mA h g-1). However, during cycling, it undergoes tremendous volume expansion (~280%) associated with the formation of Li-alloy phases, leading to short cycle life. To mitigate the volume expansion, many studies have been conducted to design porous Si structures through various thermal reduction of silica precursors. Magnesiothermic reduction (MR) is one of the facile processes because it requires short reduction time and low temperature (≥650℃). However, the MR reaction accompanies huge exothermic heat causing severe sintering of silicon and formation of various by-products. Herein, we tried to find the optimal MR condition for high yield and purity of porous silicon from commercial zeolites. The appealing structural features and electrochemical performances of mesoporous silicon structures as high performance LIB anodes are to be presented in detail.
