제목 Biothiol Compound Sensing Based on Water-Soluble Fluorescent Probe Containing Aldehyde Groups
초록 Goal of this study is to detect biothiols such as cysteine, homocysteine, and glutathione which play important roles in biology. Biothiols are participating in the process of reversible redox reactions so that they can maintain the homeostasis of the human body. Moreover, deficiency or overabundance of biothiols can cause serious disorder in our body. For these reasons, detection of biothiols is important. Fluorescence sensing is a rapidly developing field of research and technology because of its ultimate selectivity and sensitivity. The basic mechanism of the sensing is the change in the signal produced by molecular interaction between the target and fluorescent molecules. We have synthesized a new fluorescent probe with aldehyde functional group so that it can react with biothiols. Positive charge has been introduced in the side chain of the fluorescent probe in order to have solubility in the water and further application.
