제목 Flexible Bio-composites Based on Silk and Cellulose
초록 Recently, biomaterials have received a great deal of scientific attention for medical applications such as biosensors, tissue engineering scaffolds, drug-delivery matrices, and wound dressings. Silk, one of the biomaterials, has several useful properties including superior biocompatibility, good water vapor permeability, and unique mechanical properties. However, the ductility of silk fibroin decreases during the regeneration process for forming proper form, resulting in a debasement of the mechanical properties of the regenerated silk compared to natural cocoon fiber. In this study, we successfully prepared silk/cellulose composite, which has flexible and specific mechanical properties, for biomaterials application. The morphology of the composite was observed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were used to study the conformation and crystallinity of the composite films.
