제목 Massive long-distance hydrogen transport: perspectives on process design
초록 To reduce the green house gases, hydrogen is considered as main energy that can replace fossil fuels. However, for long-distance transport, the main challenge in hydrogen storage is to reduce the volume of gas at ambient conditions. In this study, five promising storage technologies, liquid hydrogen, ammonia, methylcyclohexane (MCH), dibenzyltoluene and methanol are applied for comparative analysis of levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH) and carbon footprint of hydrogen supply chain. The hydrogen storage and release processes are designed by comprehensive simulation for using heat and mass balance and equipment data  to compare a defined hydrogen supply chain including 5,000km of seaborne transport. Additionally, they are compared by reflecting the improvements of energy efficiency of the desinged process and the possibility of future commercialization at 2050 of renewable energy and green hydrogen.
