제목 Development of Numerical Model for Estimating BOG Generation in LNG receiving terminal
초록 As the volume of LNG is 600 times smaller than the gaseous form, LNG has the advantages to transport across long distance and be stored in larger quantities. However, large difference in temperature of LNG and its surrounding can result heat leaks, leading to generation of large amount of Boil Off Gas (BOG). Basically, mixing generated BOGs with LNG can be transported to the consumers under specific high-pressure gas conditions. With an increase of LNG production, excess BOG can occur and not be able to control by mixing it with LNG. To obtain smooth operation and efficient production, an accurate estimation of generated BOG is necessary. This study developed a numerical model for predicting the amount of BOG generated in the LNG production plant. The thermodynamic model was determined by considering the chemical substances in the process. In addition, the factors affecting heat inflow and generated BOG were analyzed. By integrating both approaches, a numerical model was presented.
