제목 Selective protection layer on Pt/C surface for durable PEMFC catalyst
초록 Pt/C catalyst is mainly used for a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell. Pt dissolution has been known as degradation mechanism the catalyst under operation condition of PEMFC between 0.6 and 1.0 V, which is related to Pt oxide formation. Pt dissolution severely occurs on the low coordinated sites due to high binding energies of oxygen species. To inhibit dissolution, selective adsorption materials on low coordinated sites were adopted to suppress adsorption of the oxygen species. An accelerated durability test with voltage cycling between 0.6 and 1.0 V was performed, and the results showed that durability of the selectively protected Pt/C was improved compared to the pristine Pt/C.
