제목 Removal of Cesium by Sulfur encapsulated zeolite micromotor from radioactive liquid waste
초록 137Cs is the most dangerous contaminat due to long half-life(30.2 years), high-energy gamma ray. Moreover, due to physicochemical properties similar to potassium and high solubility, the Cs can be easily incorporated into terrestrial and aquatic organisms. In this study, sulfur encapsultaed zeolite(S-NaX) was prepared using vacuum sublimation in NaX to increase selectivity toward cesium. According to the hard soft acid base (HSAB) theory, the enhanced Cs+ ion-exchange selectivity can be explained by the fact that sulfur, a soft Lewis base, interacts more strongly wit Cs+, which is a softer Lewis acid than competition ions. S-NaX was coated with platinum (Pt) by sputtering. Pt coated S-NaX has self-propelled property in H2O2 solution. S-NaX@Pt were characterized by XRD and SEM. We also investigated in terms of the adsorption kinetics and effects of competing ions. Sulfur encapsultaed zeolite micromotor can be useful to remove cesium from radioacitve liquid waste.
