제목 Eco-friendly preparation and characterization of biodegradable cellulose-derived polymer with improved mechanical properties by carbon nanotubes
초록 As environmental pollution caused by non-biodegradable synthetic polymers increases, biodegradable polymers have attracted attention as alternatives. However, these biopolymer-based films show inferior mechanical properties. In the present work, carbon nanotube (CNT)-reinforced carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC/CNT) nanocomposites were prepared. The CNTs can be homogeneously dispersed in water with the aid of CMC polymers. The crystal structure and morphologies of CMC/CNT nanocomposites were investigated by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and scanning electron microscope, respectively. The mechanical properties, tensile strength and Young’s modulus, of the CMC/CNT nanocomposite films were estimated by universal testing machine after cutting films to specimens using ASTM D638-05 blade. The tensile strength and Young’s modulus of CMC/CNT nanocomposites were enhanced by addition of the CNT owing to π–π interfacial interaction between CNT and CMC polymer chain.
