제목 Thermal, Rheological and Mechanical Study of PP/Recycled PET Fibre Composites Compatibilized with Maleic Anhydride and Oxygen Plasma Treatment
초록 In this paper, thermal and mechanical properties of composites made with PP matrix and recycled PET fibre as reinforcing material was evaluated. Interfacial adhesion between the two materials was achieved by maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene (PP-g-MA) and oxygen plasma treatment. Recycled PET (rPET) fibre was prepared by melt spinning process and different weight ratio (0, 10, 15, 20 wt.%) was introduced to PP matrix. Thermal behavior was assessed by HDT (Heat Deflection Temperature) and DSC (Differencial Scanning Calorimetry). Storage, loss modulus and complex viscosity of composites were measured by oscillation rheometer. Mechanical behavior was assessed by tensile strength. It was found that using either of compatibilization methods (plasma treatment and PP-g-MA), tensile strength and HDT increased as increase of rPET fibre contents, as well as the improvement of fibre dispersion and interfacial adhesion as compared to non-compatibilized PP/rPET fibre composites.
