제목 Fabrication of Silver-Exchanged Zeolite Micromotors for removal of Iodine
초록 129I(Iodine) is one of the radionucleotides that is found in small concentrations in nuclear waste. However, it is important to remove them because of influence on human metabolic processes and its long half-life. In this study, silver-exchanged zeolite micromotors were fabricated and characterized toward effective and rapid elimination of iodine in water.  
Ag-exchanged zeolite(Ag-Z) was prepared using a ion-exchange procedure with an aqueous solution of silver nitrate. After washing with distilled water and drying, Ag-Z was dispersed in isopropanol and spread on to the glass slides. After drying, Ag-Z was coated with Pt layer. Pt coated Ag-Z can propel by decomposition of H2O2 fuel. Ag+ ion and I- ion form silver iodide in zeolite so it is possible to remove iodine. The removal of iodine ions onto these synthesized zeolites was fully studied. And the results of study show that our zeolite effectively removed the iodine.
