제목 Effects of various inorganic materials on superabsorbent polymer surface cross-linking system
초록  Surface cross-linking of superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) were conducted to enhance absorption properties. Partially neutralized carboxylized acrylic monomer and vinyl sulfonic acid were synthesized via free radical polymerization, and then modification of superabsorbent polymers were imposed on the surface of its particles using ethylene carbonate as surface cross-linker. The surface treatment was conducted by homogenous spraying in treatment solution containing cross-linker and solvent in which inorganic substance was dissolved and then heating at 140 °C, to complete reaction. We confirmed the structure of SAPs using FT-IR spectroscopy and measured absorption properties such as centrifuge retention capacity and absorbency under load in 0.9 wt. % saline solution. In addition, we confirmed the absorption properties of the surface treated SAPs according to input inorganic material type, and content.
