제목 Preparation and properties of electrochromic devices based on picene-containing ion gel
초록 Electrochromism (EC) is a phenomenon in which the color changes due to oxidation-reduction of an electroactive substance when a voltage is applied.  In this contribution, polyhydrocarbons (PAHs), which prove suitable as a EC material, are colorless in a neutral state due to large band gaps, but they show vivid and colorful molecular plasmon resonances in reduced and oxidized states. Among PAHs, we have been mostly intrigued by picene, due to its high stability and carrier mobility with a large bandgap of up to 3.3 eV. In this contribution, we present the electrochromic properties of picene-containing ion gel, made up of poly(vinyliden fluoride) and imidazole-based ionic liquid. Electrochromic devices (ECDs) were fabricated on ITO coated glass or silver coated fabric as an electrode substrate. Electrochromic performances of these ECDs were thoroughly investigated, in terms of coloration efficiency, color range, and cyclic stability. Detailed results will be presented in the poster.
