||It is important to use the solar energy to solve the problem of energy shortage in developing countries because the solar energy has many advantages like purity and infinite energy. However, it is difficult to obtain high efficiency of energy conversion from the solar energy to usable energy. Herein, we introduced highly efficient light absorber for broad-range light toward steam generation. Conducting polymers such as polypyrrole and polythiophene, which absorb the broad-range light, was introduced to cellulose membrane using vapor deposition polymerization (VDP). In addition, we deposited polystyrene on one side of the membrane via VDP process to ensure that the membrane absorbed light efficiently and floated in water without artificial supporter. This membrane efficiently generated heat and steam when this membrane was placed under sun light has broad-range wavelength. This membrane can be applied to various fields such as seawater desalination, eco-friendly power plant.
