||A novel nanofiltration membranes with antibacterial were prepared from polyethersulfone (PES) ultrafiltration membrane substrate with acrylate monomers and nano-onions(NO) having antibacterial properties. For the synthesis of active layer, NO was reacted with (3-methacryloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane (γ-MPS) to form γ-MPS terminated nano-onions (NO-MPS). Using radical polymerization, acrylate monomers and NO-MPS simply fabricated nanofiltration membrane(NF-NO). Formation of NF-NO was confirmed by FT-IR, XPS, TGA, FE-SEM. XPS analyses were conducted to confirm the formation of the NO-MPS and contents of oxygen in the NO-MPS. Fabricated membrane exhibited higher salt rejection and antibacterial effectiveness than PES membrane.
