제목 Characterization and the hydrolytic degradation study of absorbable poly(p-dioxanone)(PPDO) monofilament suture [PDS™ II]
초록 Characterization and the hydrolytic degradaton properties of absorbable poly(p-dioxanone) (PPDO) monofilament suture [PDS™ II] were studied by analyzing chemical structure, molecular weight, thermal properties, surface morphologies and pH changes. The results show that the relative number-average molecular weight of the sutures were about 50~55k g/mol[Standard material: PS]. The sutures seem to be treated at around 90℃ to improve physical properties. The temperature of maximum crystallization rate and the Activation energy for the sutures were about 40~50℃ and 80~100kJ/mol, respectively. The hydrolytic degradation properties of the sutures were strongly temperature dependent. At the beginning of the in vitro time, the tensile strength of the sutures decreased slowly but decreased considerably after a certain period of time, indication that the hydrolytic degradation proceeded in two steps.
