제목 Chain structures, Thermal Property and Stabilization Behavior of Melt-processable Terpolymers of Acrylonitrile, Methyl Acrylate and Itaconic Acid
초록 Melt-processable acrylonitrile-based precursors for obtaining high performance carbon fibers have a variety of advantages in aspects of cost efficiency and eco-friendly processing condition. For the purpose, in this study, we have synthesized a series of melt-processable terpolymers with various compositions of acrylonitrile (AN), methyl acrylate (MA) and itaconic acid (IA) by using aqueous suspension polymerization. 13C NMR analysis reveals the atactic chain configuration of the terpolymers, regardless of the composition. The thermal properties of the terpolymers such as glass transition and exothermic stabilization are investigated using step-scan DSC. The effectiveness of melt-processing of the terpolymers is characterized by using time- and temperature-dependent melt-rheological property measurement. The structural changes during stabilization process of the terpolymers are monitored by using thermal FT-IR spectroscopy.
