제목 Improvement of Interfacial Adhesion Between Carbon Fiber and Polypropylene for Tensile Properties of PP/CF Composites  
초록 Commercial carbon fiber(CF) and polypropylene(PP) have a poor interface adhesion due to the sizing agent of CF surface. Generally, most of commercial carbon fiber are conducted the surface treatment such as bisphenol type sizing agent for interface adhesion between CF and thermosetting polymers. For this reason, compatibility between CF and thermoplastic polymers such as polypropylene are considerably decreased because of epoxy sizing of CF surface. Various additives such as monoamine and PDMAEMA-b-PMMA block copolymers was used for surface modify of CF surface. The mechanical properties of surface modified CF / PP composites are measured by universal test machine(UTM) according to the ASTM D-638. The effects of surface treatment of carbon fibers are confirmed using FT-IR, XPS and FE-SEM. The compatibility between surface modified CF and PP are examined by analyze of the fractured surface of CF / PP composites using FE-SEM.
