제목 Indocyanine Green loaded gelatin nanoparticles for locoregional treatment: fluorescence imaging and photo-thermal therapy
초록 Indocyanine green (ICG), a fluorescent dye, is widely used as an optical imaging agent in medical diagnostics as well as a photo-thermal therapeutic agent. However, there are limits to apply ICG for locoregional treatment owing to its concentration-dependent fluorescence quenching, poor water stability and a nonspecific protein-binding property. In this study, we designed ICG-loaded nanoparticles using gelatin via electrostatic and hydrophobic interaction. These nanoparticles are featured by a ICG/gelatin core stabilized by double surfactant layers; that is, sodium oleate and Pluronic F68. The formulated nanostructure not only promoted aqueous stability but also exhibited less aggregation and resultant enhancement of fluorescence intensity compared to free aqueous ICG. This presentation will describe the optical/colloidal characteristics of nanoparticles, and evaluation on in vivo tissue penetrating profiles by fluorescence as well as therapeutic efficacy of photo-thermal effects.
