제목 The advantages of Using MnCO2O4 spinel as Support Material for HMF Oxidation
초록 Biomass is renewable in nature, and has potential to be an ideal for the replacement of non- fossil resources. Indeed, considerable interests have already been paid on the use of biomass as an alternative to produce a variety of biofuels and platform molecules. Among them, 2,5-furandicarboxylicacid (FDCA), as an alternative of terephthalic acid (TA), is widely used as an intermediate for the synthesis of a variety of functional polymers and fine chemicals. Here, we report MnCo2O4 spinel is a new class of smart material which is used as support with ruthenium nanoparticles as catalyst in HMF oxidation to produce FDCA. Various advantages of using MnCo2O4 spinel with ruthenium nanoparticles include to produce not only the FDCA with highest yield under base free conditions but also to produce another important molecule i.e. 2,5-diformylfuran (DFF). Moreover, the catalyst Ru/MnCo2O4 is recyclable up to several successive runs without any significance loss of its original activity.
