제목 Numerical Study of EMMS Drag Model for Simulating Gas-Solid Fluidized Bed of Geldart B Particles
초록 Application of heterogenous drag models, like Energy Minimization Multi-Scale (EMMS), for simulating gas-solid fluidized bed has become popular in the recent time. In this work, a series of Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) simulation experiments of gas-solid fluidized bed for Geldart B particles is carried out for evaluating (EMMS) drag model. Simulation results using both homogeneous (Gidaspow in this case) and heterogeneous drag models were compared with existing experimental data on pressure drop and bed expansion height from literature. Gas-solid fluidization model considering EMMS drag model is then evaluated with different values of solid-solid and solid-wall interaction parameters – restitution co-efficient and specularity co-efficient. Additionally, model predictions of EMMS and Gidaspow drag models were compared under solid phase polydisperity condition. Further, simulations with polydisperity solid phase and with particle size range 200 to 300 micron reveals interesting  results different from that of polydisperity solid phase and with particle size range 300 to 400 micron.
