제목 Gold-installed biostable nanocomplexes as siRNA carriers for improved in vivo tumor targeting.
초록 Non-viral delivery systems have been investigated to carry small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) to the cytosol of the target cell. The key issues, related to the non-viral delivery systems for siRNAs, are their poor stability and lack of tumor targetability in vivo. To address these challenges, we developed gold-installed polyethylenimine (PEI)/siRNA complexes (GICs) with a corona of PEGylated hyaluronic acid. The GICs showed outstanding stability owing to the presence of gold nanoparticles and high tumor targetability through receptor-mediated endocytosis in both in vitro and in vivo. Consequently, the GICs exhibited excellent in vivo gene silencing efficiency. Hence, it was evident that the GICs had a potential as a siRNA delivery system for cancer therapy.
