제목 Functional Peptide Containing Hydrogels for Protein and Cell Delivery
초록 Protein and cell based therapies are considered as one of the highly promising strategies in biomedical application, but there remain several limitations in terms of delivery conditions such as protein stability as well as cell survival and function. Hydrogels represent versatile and potent delivery platforms for proteins and cells due to their high water content that retain protein activity and cell viability. In this study, we introduced functional peptides, albumin and gelatin, into the hydrogel network by chemical modification to maximize the therapeutic effect. Albumin is expected to sustain the release profile since it is known to have a unique binding affinity to various drugs and proteins. Gelatin can provide multiple adhesion sites to incorporated cells based on inherent RGD sequences. Functional-peptide containing hydrogels were synthesized and the results confirmed that the prepared hydrogel showed highly increased therapeutic effects by in vitro and in vivo experiments.
