||In general, Silica aerogel blankets were synthesized by using ambient drying method. But this method was vulnerable to poor impregnation of silica aerogel in the blaket. To improve the degree of impregnation of silica aerogel, vacuum assisted resin transfer molding(VARTM) process was employed to prepare well-impregnated blankets. Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding(VARTM) is a process where resin is driven by a vacuum to fill the mold. To study the effects on VARTM process, the silica aerogel blankets were fabricated by each solvent of n-hexane and toluene through the VARTM process and ambient drying method. The prepared samples were characterized by scanning electron miceroscope.
