||The plasma polymerization is possible to make coatings of thin, transparent films in large scale, and it does not need any special solvent or catalyst so that the level of impurities can be minimized. Furthermore, that can expect a highly cross-linked polymer structure in plasma polymerization, which may be beneficial in anti-corrosion property. In this research, we successfully synthesized plasma polymerized films from a highly crosslinkable monomer using a low-temperature plasma process on the Cu metal for anti-corrosion. We observed that plasma polymers synthesized using Ar carrier gas have lower surface energy when compare to those with N2 carrier gas by contact-angle measurements. We confirmed that plasma-polymerized poly(dicyclopentadiene) on Cu metal showed anti-corrosion property in Tafel analysis by electrochemical corrosion measurements.
