제목 Studies on the effects of pulse-time in manufacturing C/SiC composites by pulse-CVI
초록
The preparation of C/SiC composites from the reaction of methyltrichlorosilane(CH3SiCl3 MTS) and hydrogen by pulse-CVI was studuied. Pulse-CVI is applied because the product gas, HCl, prevents the reactant gases to infiltrate into the preform. After the inside of reactor becomes evacuated during the gas evacuation time, reactant gases are injected during the gas injection time. By doing so, the reactant gases diffuse for into the preform. As a result, it become possible to fill pores uniformly. In this study, effects of pulse time on the infiltration were observed at 950 ℃, 10% MTS and 40 torr. Changing the gas injection time/the gas evacuation time(tp/te) as 15s/20s, 10s/20s and 5s/20s, the infiltration was done for 18 hours. The shorter the gas injection time was, the more uniform deposittion was obtained. The infltrated amount was measured by comparing the masses before and after the infiltration and with the analysis of TGA. The shape of deposit was tested with a porosimeter and SEM.
