A REVIEW OF ONE-DIMENSIONAL CONVECTION-DISPERSION MODELS AND THEIR APPLICATIONS TO MISCIBLE DISPLACEMENT IN POROUS-MEDIA
The mechanics of fluid flow and the propagation of species such as solvents, tracers, or other chemicals in porous media are of importance in improved oil recovery processes as well as soil science, heterogeneous reaction, separation processes, and chromatography. The following one-dimensional models, frequently used to model species propagation in porous media, are reviewed: convection-dispersion, convection-dispersion with capacitance, convection-dispersion with adsorption, convection-dispersion with capacitance and adsorption.
