Poly(butadiene-g-acrylonitrile-styrene) Core/Shell
Toughening of Epoxy Resin by Inclusion of Poly(butadiene-g-acrylonitrile-styrene) Core/Shell Rubber
초록
Poly(butadiene-g-acrylonitrile-styrene) core/shell 분말을 합성하여 이들의 shell의 화학적 조성 및 core와의 상대적 조성이 에폭시의 강인화에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다.
Poly(butadiene-g-acrylonitrile-styrene) core-shell rubber particles were synthesized for the toughening of epoxy. The effects of chemical composition of shell and relative composition of core and shell were mainly investigated. The chemical composition of shell components, acrylonitrile (AN) and styrene (ST), has been found to affect the dispersion of core-shell particles, which finally control the toughness of modified epoxies. The maximum toughness was obtained at composition of 15 wt% AN with more than 20 fold Increase. The toughness of modified epoxies also has been affected by the relative composition of core and shell. With an increase of the relative shell composition, the toughness increased in sprite of lowering of rubbery phase composition, which might be due to the positive interaction of toughening mechanisms, such as crack bridging and cavitation/plastic deformation.
