Electric field-induced quenching of photoluminescence in the MEH-PPV : C60 composite thin film
Photoluminescence from the blend of poly[2-methoxy,5-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4,-phenylene-vinylene] and fullerene (C60) was studied under the influence of the electric field. The results show that electric field-induced quenching of photoluminescence (EFIQP) in the blend film is much easier compared to that in the undoped MEH-PPV film. It is attributed to a facilitation of exciton dissociation due to the photoinduced charge transfer from MEH-PPV to C60. Besides, it is indicated that the electric field dependence of the charge mobility in C60 doped MEH-PPV is more complex than that in the undoped MEH-PPV film. (c) 2007 Published by Elsevier B.V.
