Analysis of fixed bed reactors using a diffuse interface single pellet model
The Diffuse Interface Shrinking Core model of non-catalytic, gas-solid reaction in spherical pellets has been used to demonstrate the effect on the behaviour of fixed bed reactors of assuming different concentration profiles to exist within the reaction zone of the pellets. A mathematical model has been set up for the case of a reversible, non-isothermal system and a selection of parameters chosen to illustrate the application.
