Corrosion of copper in cold-water plumbing systems
After replacing the cold water piping in a public building in 1985, copper content increased after one year and pipe perforations occurred in 1989. The corrosion was different from previously known types; copper resistant microorgan isms caused the microbiologically induced corrosion. The experimental results are presented.
