Effect of stabilizing ligands on the rate of reaction of Cu(I)L with CCl3CO2(-) in aqueous solutions .1. L=HOOCCH=CHCOO-
The mechanism of the reaction of Cu-aq(+) with Cl3CCOO- is reported; fumarate, which forms a complex with Cu(DI slows down the reaction rate considerably. Cu-aq(2+)+(CCl2COO-)-C-.-->(Cu-III-CCl2COO-)(+) (Cu-III-CCl2COO-)(+)+Cu-aq(+)-->Cu-II-CCl2COO Cu-II-CCl2COO+H2O-->Cuaq2+HCCl2COO-+OH-.
