Auto-oscillated vibration of single micrometer-sized oil droplets in aqueous surfactant solution
Single micrometer-sized oil droplets formed at the end of a capillary tube in an aqueous surfactant solution were shown to exhibit vigorous auto-oscillated vibrations. The frequency and amplitude of the vibration were dependent on the droplet size, the concentration of the surfactant, and the nature of the oil used. The possible mechanism was discussed.
