Preparation and Characterization of a Manganese Activated Zinc Silicate Phosphor by Fume Pyrolysis of an Alkoxide Solution (Zn2Sio4-Mn)
Manganese activated zinc silicate phosphors are prepared by fume pyrolysis of metal alkoxide solution in an electric furnace heated at 950-degrees-C. The microstructure examined by SEM shows that the particles were spherical and highly dispersed. The emission intensity of the phosphors prepared by fume pyrolysis is stronger than that of the phosphors produced by conventional methods. The particle size and the emission intensity of the phosphors were dependent on firing temperature.
