Electrical Conductivities of 3-Phase Emulsions .1. Strongly Wetting Middle Phase
Electrical conductivities of steady-state, three-phase (macro)emulsions formed by the top (T), middle (M), and bottom (B) phases of the amphiphile/oil/"water" (i.e., aqueous 10 mM NaCl) system C4H9OC2H40H/n-decane/water have been measured and compared with the predictions of equations from the literature or that we have proposed. In all cases the continuous phase could be deduced from the combination of experiment and theory, but less information was obtained about dispersed-phase structures. Three new conductivity equations and two new three-phase dispersion morphologies have been proposed.
