Self-healing perovskite solar cells
Over the past decade, organic-inorganic metal halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have skyrocketed to a certified power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 25.2%. Unfortunately, the instability of perovskite impedes the commercial development of PSCs in the long run when exposing to continuous illumination, moisture and high temperature. With recent progress in smart self-healing materials, empowering perovskite solar cells with self-healing capability has become a promising way to efficaciously improve the device long-term stability and durability. Herein, this article reviews recent advances in self-healing performance of perovskite solar cells. Self-healing types of perovskite films are outlined and the self-healing mechanism among perovskite solar cells are systematically discussed. Finally, an outlook on the challenges and prospects of self-healing perovskite solar cells was proposed and analyzed. This review provided a promising pathway for self-healing perovskite solar cells with durable stability.
