Catalytic Conversions of Hydrocarbons over Zeolites at 170-260 degrees C
The study investigated the correlation between the physicochemical properties of certain BEA, MFI, and FAU zeolites and their catalytic activity in conversions of n-heptane, hept-1-ene, and hydrocarbon mixtures with different compositions at 170-260 degrees C. X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, and integrated thermal analysis were utilized for the study purposes. The study identified regularities of hydrocarbon conversions over zeolites within the selected temperature range. In particular, cracking of C7 hydrocarbons was found to occur through intermediate oligomer formation. It was shown that, under certain conditions, oxygen is recovered from the zeolite lattice to form carbon oxides as reaction products.
