Thermophysical Properties of Typical CCUS Fluids: Experimental and Modeling Investigation of Density
Density was measured for three multicomponent CO2 mixtures (with CO2 molar fractions of 0.406, 0.693, and 0.987) over a wide range of temperature 220-422 K and pressures up to 62 MPa. Measurements were performed using a vibrating tube density meter (VTD) and an isochoric cell. The VTD was calibrated and validated to obtain the densities for all of the mixtures at five isotherms at T > 323 K. Also, using the isochoric cell, density measurements were carried out for one of the mixtures at an extended range of temperature down to 220 K. The results from the VTD were utilized to calculate compressibility factor as well as second and third virial coefficients for all of the samples. For the reported properties, uncertainties associated with the measurements were calculated. Finally, the measured densities and calculated properties were compared against predictions of the GERG-equation of state (EoS).
