Evaluation of thermal conductivity of deionized water containing SDS-coated NiO nanoparticles under the influences ofconstant and alternative varied magnetic fields
The impacts of SDS-coated NiO nanopartides, temperature and nanopartides concentration were investigated on thermal conductivity of nanofluid under permanent and alternative magnetic fields. Three different temperatures of 40, 60 and 80 degrees C and nanopartides concentrations in the range of 0.01 to 1%were chosen. The results showed that thermal conductivity of nanofluid varied with increasing nanofluid temperature. Moreover by increasing the volume load in the base-fluid, thermal conductivity increased remarkably. Moreover, by adding SDS to the nanofluid, the stability of the nanoparticles in water improved. In addition, thermal conductivity increased slightly with volume fraction up to 0.1 vol%. However, with more nanoparticles concentration from 0.1 vol% to 1%, the alterations in the thermal conductivity were more tangible. Moreover, the alternative magnetic field led to greater effect on the thermal conductivity. Both alternating and permanent magnetic fields could well help to increase the thermal conductivity of nanofluid. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
