Graphite Intercalated Iridium Nanodisks for Cinnamaldehyde Hydrogenation
Disk-shaped metal particles having 1-3nm thickness and 1-14 nm diameter were prepared by the reduction of iridium chloride intercalated between graphite layers. These iridium nanodisks between graphite layers showed higher activity for cinnamaldehyde hydrogenation and higher selectivity towards cinnamyl alcohol compared with those of iridium particles on graphite surface in supercritical carbon dioxide solvent.
