Catalytic Carbonization of Acenaphthene for the Preparation of Ordered Mesoporous Carbon CMK-1 toward Application as Electrochemical Double-layer Capacitor Electrode with Ionic Liquid Electrolyte
Ordered mesoporous carbon CMK-1 with partially graphitized domains was prepared from acenaphthene in Ni-loaded MCM-48, which showed an extremely high electric double-layer capacitance of 13.6 mu F cm(-2) using the ionic liquid, EMI-TFSI, as the electrolyte, caused by electronic adsorption of electrolyte ions on the edge planes of the graphitic domains.
