Facile sol-gel foaming synthesized nano foam Bi2Mo3O12 as novel photocatalysts for Microcystis aeruginosa treatment
Novel nano foam Bi2Mo3O12 with high specific surface area was prepared through a facile sol-gel foaming technology. It was found for the first time that the obtained nano foam Bi2Mo3O12 exhibited excellent photocatalytic activity for treating Microcystis aeruginosa under visible light irradiation. Microcystis aeruginosa damage process was monitored by measuring chlorophyll-alpha content, L-glutathione content, and malondialdehyd content of the treated Microcystis aeruginosa suspension. Trapping experiment revealed that center dot O-2(-) is the main active specie in the catalytic system. Also the catalyst had superior stability and reusability.
