Development of a Fluorescent-type Sensor Based on Rhodamine B for Fe(III) Determination
Rhodamine B was successfully reacted with ethylenediamine and acetylacetone to obtain a fluorescent chelator, for use as a selective fluorescent sensor to monitor Fe(III) levels in organisms without damage. RA has a strong specificity for Fe3+, the highest sensitivity with a detection limit of 10(-6) mol L-1, and a reaction stabilization time of 20 min. Thus, this sensor can be used for the quantitative and non-destructive determination of Fe(III) in biosomes.
