The Volume of Fluid Method, a Method for the Simulation of Two-Phase Flow
The computational fluid dynamics has gained a growing importance in the last decades. This has been achieved, on the one hand, through the continuously increasing speed of computers, on the other hand, through the development of mathematical-physical models and numerical algorithms that allow a reality-close simulation of complex flow processes. In this work, the volume of fluid method is used to simulate a two-phase flow in a tube. The effects of the contact angle, the temperature and the mass flow of the gas phase on the form of the liquid phase are investigated.
