Oxa-Michael Addition Reaction and Polymerization of Morita-Baylis-Hillman Adducts and Derivatives
The oxa-Michael addition of Morita-Baylis-Hillman adducts and derivatives has been investigated for the first time to afford various types of polymeric and oligomeric products derived from Michael acceptors and aldehydes catalyzed by Cs2CO3/CuCl2, t-BuOK, or an N-heterocyclic carbene. The reactions proceeded through multiple reaction modes, including dehydration polycondensation, selective oxa-Michael addition polymerization, and SN2' reaction, depending on the monomer structures.
