Activity coefficients at infinite dilution for alcohols in the 1-hexyl-3-methyl-imidazolium his(trifluoromethyl-sulfonyl)imide ionic liquid
Activity coeffs. of 6 aliph. alcs. on formula Me(CH2)(n)OH (n = 0-5) in the 1-hexyl-3-methyl-imidazolium bis(trffluoromethyl-sulfonyl)imide were detd. at infinite dilution by inverse gas chromatog. at 298,15-348,15 K. The basic thermodynamic functions (partial molar excess Gibbs energy, enthalpy and entropy) at infinite diln. were calcd. over the whole temp. range. Addnl., the gas-liq. partition coeffs. were also found. The activity coeffs. and gas-liq. partition coeffs. increased with the increasing alc. chain length but decreased with increasing temp. The Gibbs energy and enthalpy increased also with increasing alc. chain length.
