Surface State Change Effects of Electrochemically Oxidized/Reduced Glassy Carbon on Electrochemical Capacitance
Electrochemical oxidation offers a facile method to create graphite oxide without impurities. In this work, we employed glassy carbon as a precursor of graphite oxide and processed it with electrochemical oxidation/reduction cycles. Electrochemical capacitance, galvanostatic charge-discharge, atomic force microscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analyses were performed; the results showed a relationship between the capacitance and the surface roughness of the electrode.
