Synthesis of nickel nanoparticles by aqueous reduction in continuous flow microreacto(r)
The nickel nanoparticles have been synthesized by aqueous reduction method with hydrazine hydrate in a T-shaped continuous flow microreactor at 80 degrees C. The influence of flow rates on nickel nanoparticles morphology, size distribution, crystal structure and elemental compositions was characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Experimental results demonstrated that particle size and shape can be controlled by varying the flow rates. An increase in the flow rate clearly results in a decreased mean particle diameter. XRD analysis indicated that the synthesized particles are Ni nanoparticles with a face-centered cubic (FCC) crystal structure. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
