Role of the Metal Ion binding to Flavin BDP being D-Lactate Dehydrogenase Model
The compounds of benzodiputeridine(BDP) bearing a bipyridine are able to oxidize α-hydroxy acids to α-keto acids through the formation of the ternary complex in the presence of a divalent metal ion such as Zn(2+), Co(2+), and Ni(2+) and an amine base in MeCN. The role of the metal ion is able to explain as an example that flavin model oxidizes α-hydroxy acid in the presence of a metal ion.
