The effect of anisotropic yielding behaviour on cold rolling forces
In cold rolling mills, on-line process models are used for the prediction of the process setup for each stand. The accuracy of the set-up depends on the accuracy of the prediction of the cold rolling resistance of the rolled steel. The current prediction of the cold rolling force is not always sufficiently accurate. This paper describes investigations made to quantify the effect of anisotropic material behaviour on cold rolling forces, with the aim being to achieve a more accurate prediction of these forces.
