Design and densification of W-Mo functionally graded materials with smooth changes of composition by co-sedimentation
A kind of W-Mo functionally graded materials (FGMs) can be applied in dynamic high-pressure technology to create quasi-isentropic compression on target material. In this paper the particle size distribution of Mo powder has been calculated according to the target function - compositional distribution of the required product Subsequently, the sedimentation experiments were carried out and the sample was tested by the electron probe. The results show that elements W and Mo form a continuously graded structure and the tested values are in fair agreement with the designed values.
